Cannondale Hooligan
Industrial Design
Back in 2007, Cannondale engineering legend Chris Dodman had the idea of doing a BMX-inspired, sturdy and fun bike for the urban jungle. He came up with the name - Hooligan - and even chose the slogan: ‘Ride it like you stole it’. Torgny got to do the ID and opted for reviving the iconic Delta V front triangle from the early 90s. The Hooligan got it's single sided fork, the Fatty Solo one year after the initial release with delays caused by it being probably the largest 3D-forged aluminum part on any bicycle at the time. The Hooligan stayed in production for twelve years and sold particularly well in Japan, where small-wheeled bikes are very popular. Today the Hooligan has a certain cult following and prices for the used bikes often go beyond the original price tag.

Torgny’s comment: “It’s a small bike with a big attitude, and it’s one of those products that makes you behave different. Your commute may start the same but you’re much more likely to jump off curbs and take a detour through the park. It kind of turns you into a kid again - great fun!
