Colnago V4Rs
Industrial Design
Cycling
For a bike like the Colnago V4Rs, the envelope for industrial design is extremely tight; first the performance requirements of Team UAE have to be met and then the manufacturing constraints and UCI regulations have to be complied with. Ending up with an aesthetically pleasing bike is of course a nice bonus, but doesn’t help much if you don’t hit the performance targets.
In this case we started out with the successful V3Rs (on which Tadej Pogačar won the TdF twice) as a reference. Once the reference tube sections were established by FEA and CFD, the main focus was on refining the junction areas to give them a soft and organic feel contrasting the aggressive and purposeful silhouette.
The last few images show Tadej's 2024 Giro winning bike.
Torgny's comment: "Colnago as a brand has fantastic momentum these days and knowing what's in the pipeline, there are truly exciting times ahead. It's an honor to work with this team and to be part of a new chapter in such a legendary brand's history!"
