The Cilo Kyano was launched at Eurobike 2024 as a part of the revival of this historic Swiss brand. FJELD had the pleasure of developing the design language and executing the industrial design for the entire Cilo lineup.

Questioning the given constraints and proposing optimisations is one of the key parts of our job as industrial designers.

In the case of the Cilo Kyano, we at FJELD proposed lowering the top-tube around the rear shock exposing it to the rider, achieving a lower standover and producing a more distinctive silhouette. The final image shows the initial engineering layout which was our starting point.

FJELD’s contribution also included developing a new design language for the entire Cilo product range and creating the CAD models for the 3D printed prototype frames.
