The BMC Impec Concept (2014) was a project we did to explore what a future BMC road bike could look like. It was never meant for production, more to experiment with new solutions and shapes to inspire a new design language. One of key ideas was a modular approach, so for instance the customer could choose between a Pinion-style gearbox or an electric motor. Seeing how the market has developed over the last few years, it’s a pity we didn’t pursue the eBike version, perhaps with slightly more conventional solutions here and there though.
